Ssssss.... Fear ahead.

If you fear snakes, don't worry. They say it is in our genes to be afraid of snakes.
However, knowledge overcomes fear. Living with these amazing reptiles has been a real eye-opener. Snakes are not "out there" to harm you. They are simply performing their duty in an active ecosystem. Most snakes go unnoticed as they will quickly disappear before your approach. There is one exception to this rule and that is our dearest puff adder, probably one of the laziest animals on the planet. But don't underestimate that laziness, the puff adder is one of the fastest striking snakes. Fortunately it will warn you in advance of its presence so with some basic precautions one is safe.
The hot climate in this area is ideal for a variety of reptiles and amphibians. Choose the right time of the day and soon you will discover the Lizards, Tortoises, Geckos, Chameleons, Toads and Frogs.
